Dell Adamo 13 Ultra thin Notebook Dell Adamo XPS 13 Ultra thin Notebook Price Drops to $900 Get it from Amazon

Interested in buying Dell’s ultra thin Adamo 13 notebook, then you should know that the company has officially announced a price cut that promises to make it a more affordable machine. Dell has been forced to review its strategy and dropped the prices for its 13.4-inch Adamo from $1100 to $900 sensing the tense competition in the market.

While announcing the price drop, the company has also improved the specs of this March 2009 computer model: processor clock speed of Intel Core 2 Duo has been increased from 1.4 GHz to 2.13 GHz, RAM has now been doubled to 4 GB, and the normal 128 GB hard drive has been replaced by solid state drive. Other specifications of this laptop are: resolution of the display – 1366×768 pixels, web camera – 1.3 MP. Adamo 13 comes with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. It has a well-developed system of extensions: two USB-ports (one with eSata), Ethernet and DisplayPort connectors. Weight of the machine is 1.8 kg and the 6-cell battery gives a backup of upto 5 hours.

On a related note, for Christmas I went out and bought myself a brand spanking new MacBook Pro 17 - the i7 2.8Gz model – and I have to say that this beats all of the laptops that I’ve had in recent years. I’m rocking about 8 hours per charge and I’m loving it. If you can afford to splurge on a system, go for that one.Advantages of Dell Adamo 13 in comparison with Apple MacBook Air are like presence of backlit keyboard, two USB-ports, and Ethernet-connector, but it somewhat lacks in terms of weight (‘apple’ product weighs 1.32 kg), backup (7 h ), screen resolution (1440×900 pixels) and camera (2.0 megapixel), a weaker Intel-graphics (Nvidia GeForce 320M) and SD-card slot is also missing. However, for this top-end configuration of 13.3-inch MacBook Air you will have to shell out $1500.
